Our Wedding

Our Story

Simon and Cheryl’s story actually began many years ago at primary school. Simon spent a lot of time with his best mate Alf and was often an honorary member of the Sunnybank crew, which Cheryl was very much a part of. Even back then, Cheryl had a bit of a soft spot for Simon, although neither of them knew at the time that their story was only just beginning. As they moved on to high school their paths drifted apart and they rarely saw each other. They crossed paths again briefly in college, exchanging the occasional hello, but life soon took them in different directions as they both headed off to university to study their chosen courses. Even though they went their separate ways for a while, they both always knew they would eventually come back home. A few years later, Simon was looking to buy his first house and went to view a new housing development. By complete coincidence, Cheryl had already bought a house on the very same development, which was still being built at the time. It was one of those moments where life quietly brought them back into each other’s orbit. Not long after, Simon was heading out for a night in Manchester with his best mate Alf, who suggested inviting Cheryl along. What started as a simple night out soon turned into something far more memorable. Seeing each other properly again after all those years brought back an easy connection and plenty of laughter. From that night, the spark that had started all those years earlier finally had the chance to grow. Before long they were dating, and life quickly became an adventure together. Over the years that followed they built a home, a life, and a family together. Their greatest pride and joy are their two wonderful children, Carter and Esme, who bring constant energy, laughter, and love into their lives. Fast forward a few years and Simon decided it was finally time to make things official. During a family holiday in Wales over the Christmas period, after an evening spent toasting marshmallows together with family, Simon got down on one knee and asked Cheryl to marry him. And of course, she said yes. On the 26th August they will celebrate their wedding day surrounded by the people they love most. The date is even more special because it marks exactly ten years since that night out in Manchester when their story truly began. What started with childhood memories, chance meetings, and one unforgettable night out has grown into a life full of love, family, and adventure. And this is only the beginning of the next chapter. 💍

Having been sat next to each other in year ten science at Fredlongworth high school , both clueless and much more interested in Dance than Bunsen burners, they quickly became each others Nicola Picola and Cheryl Beryl. Despite through different colleges, University and the distance of Surrey they have never been able to shake each other off and in most recent years Nicola has become the person that Cheryl can always rely on, helped her carry the shopping when heavily pregnant with Esme, endless attempts at trying to keep fit as 30 plus year ols which have included parading around rooms with Glow sticks and keeps her saine during midweek tea's out to allow us to have a good gossip and a vent! With 21 years of friendship under their belt spanning pints of wine and endless whatsapp messages there would be no other person Cheryl would have by her side on the big day!

Esme Alice warburton she needs no further introduction! Cheryl might think the day is about her or her finally walking down the aisle to Simon but this lil miss is surely going to steal the show- or be why it all goes wrong on the day! Her beautiful dress and accessories are all ready to go but if any of you know Esme , or have tried to get her dressed in a morning (big shout out to Nana and grandma) she could be walking down that aisle in wellies and a vest !!
